Woodland Park Zoo
January 7, 2011

It was raining hard today by the time I arrived at the Zoo so I spent my time in the sheltered areas - the Rain Forest Pavilion, the Day/Night Exhibits (although there is no more 'Night') and other covered displays. I enjoyed it very much.

Golden Lion Tamarin: Well, look who's here! Hey, we thought you forgot about us.

Pfffft. I'm ignoring her and you should too. She's a Foul Weather friend.

I swear this Emerald Tree Boa has not moved since 1999!

A Chestnut-mandibled Toucan glared at me as if to say 'Where's the sunshine?'.

A bright Poison Dart frog hopped around in the gloom.

I love these little guys. They're so cheery.

Here they are playing Follow The Leader, or perhaps Leapfrog.

While trying to get a picture of a Red-footed Tortoise buried in leaves I kept hearing a rustling sound.

Whoa Nellie - it was a Three-banded Armadillo who darted out of his hollow log.

I watched him grab some leaves and drag them backwards into his log.
Whew, talk about being in the right place at the right time! How lucky I was.
