WOODLAND PARK ZOO

January 19, 2010
On a gray, warmish day I walked along to the Zoo to give the new little camera a tryout. These were not optimal conditions, but I wanted to see how the *ahem* Intelligent Auto Adjustment setting would work. I was quite surprised. That little camera is much smarter than I am!

A split-second opportunity through streaky glass - I was amazed it turned out so well.

I am surprised at the detail in the flamingo's eye.

This is a Barred Owl (non-Zoo) sitting very high up in a tree near the gorilla enclosures.
I was so happy that the camera focused so well despite the many leaves and branches.

I tailed the Peacock for a while, snapping away.

Two heads are better than one? Perhaps.

A little Patas monkey does an imitation of my 'Very Talkative Patient'.

A little fuzzy, but the atmosphere was very dark and dull today.

Inside the Day/Night Pavilion, a Bearded Dragon popped up to say hello. Again I was surprised at all the detail the Intelligent Camera captured.

The suble colors of the Rhinoceros Iguana were captured also.

All in all it was a very positive experience. I'm still fiddling around with the angle of the laptop monitor when I edit, so that my colors won't be too faint or too garish, but that will come with trial and error, I suppose.
