Baker Lake Road and Rockport WA

February 7, 2009
With the promise of a nice day ahead, we drove north and east, to Mount Baker Road. It was kinda fun, driving on the icy snowy roads, and the scenery was very pretty. On the way home we visited Rockport where the annual Skagit Eagle Fest was taking place. We saw 2 eagles there but they quickly flew away from the crowds of photographers.

We drove through patches of mist on Baker Lake Road.

We ate our lunch beside the pretty Skagit River, hoping for an eagle. No luck.

At Burpee Hill lookout we had a good look at Sauk Mountain on the left.

And wheee, at Rockport, we found this fellow.

It was a gorgeous day, and so nice to be out in the sunshine!
