Woodland Park Zoo

February 8, 2007
It was still slim pickings, as a dampish, cloudyish day kept many animals in their dens. There's also a lot of construction going on, so a number of exhibits were closed. I didn't care! I had a wonderful time.

One group of gorillas still loves the warmth of the heat lamps overhead.

Family Portrait! Don't they look as if they all have Cabin Fever?.

This is Pete, the old guy of the tribe. He's trying to keep the kids in line.

Meanwhile, the second tribe of gorillas was out running around in the weak sunshine..

Some even looked as if they were trying to play.

Hey pal! Here's a foot-wave for ya!

I'd like to say The King was roaring, but he was really just yawning.

I'm very glad there's all kinds of interference between him and me..

It's a good day to sit on the Hot Rock..

Yep, snooze time.

The African Wild Dogs were actually lying down and keeping still.

Even the Arctic Wolf was sleeping all curled up in a little ball.

The River Otters, meanwhile, continued their water ballet..

Some of you may remember the Arctic Fox who looked very much worse for wear last Autumn. Well, he looks great now!

Here he is, snarling at his room-mate, the Blue Arctic Fox who was shy today.

And above it all, a Mountain Goat stood like a sentry.
