Blue skies and sunshine today! Just try to keep us at home. :) Off we went up North, deciding on the spur of the moment to see how far along the North Cascades Highway we could drive. Of course we had to stop and feed the rabbits at Marblemount first. :)

We turned east on the North Cascades Highway and followed the Skagit River.
The water level was very high, and rushed along so quickly.
 
 
 
I stopped to take a picture of the Gorge Dam.
 
 
 
We were so happy that the road was open as far as Ross Lake lookout.
The water was much bluer today - it's usually a milky green color.
 
 
 
Here's a closeup of the tiny little island in the picture above this one.
 
 
 
I'd say this was a great place to have lunch! We did. :)
