Today we visited the Museum of History and Industry. What a well-kept secret this museum is! It's an unobtrusive building, chock-full of photographs, dioramas, interactive displays, artifacts, antiques and memories. I loved it!

It was not always easy to take pictures. Here are some of the items that I enjoyed looking at very much.

A lovely old cash register was the centerpiece of an old store display.

Here's the famous Lincoln's Toe Truck. I remember this one!

And who could forget the famous Seattle Kingdome? I remember when it was imploded.

What was in kitchens during World War Two? Ricers, pressure cookers, and food stamps.

Those who attended the Seattle World's Fair in 1962 might remember this.

Here's a model of the famous art deco Kalakala ferry.

The Bubbleator Chair was a space age elevator at the Seattle Center during the Fair.

In a display of area sports, this bathing suit and cap made me smile.
I am sure I had a bathing cap like that when I was a kid.

I'd heard of the famous Bobo the Gorilla and here he is!

On a memory wall was the famous Sea Turtle outfit, made notorious by the WTO riots in 1999.

Also on the Memory Wall - Frangos lovely chocolates sold by the now defunct Bon Marche Stores.

Here's one of the interactive displays - Can you butcher the salmon as quickly as the machine?

A life-sized display of the Cannery Bunkhouse kitchen.

A large area was devoted to the Salmon Industry.

Another area displayed artifacts of the Great Seattle Fire in 1889.
