On a dreary day we paid a visit to the Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium. It's much smaller than the Woodland Park Zoo, with several different kinds of animals.

A few of the exhibits were closed for renovations, so alas, we missed the Polar Bears. I particularly enjoyed the Rocky Shores area, with Walruses, Sea Otters, Beluga Whales and Tufted Puffins.

'Hey, is it Christmas yet?' asks the Reindeer.

How much wood could a Wood Duck duck, if a Wood Duck could duck wood?

Feeding time for the Tufted Puffins. Don't look!

Yum! Herring salad.

The Walrus' weight was more than our car - 3,300 pounds.

'Ready for my closeup, Ms Ang.' says Mr Walrus.

Sea Otters surely know how to relax.

This little fellow clapped his hands and then patted the rock, again and again.

And this one was doing barrel rolls in the water. Sooooo cute!

A Magellanic Penguin invites the gang into his cave.

The White-cheeked Gibbon had just yanked the Anoa's tail and was trying to get away.

'Here's my best side!' he chortles.

A Crested Porcupine watched with some amusement.

The Sumatran Tiger peered briefly at us then went back to sleep. Ho-hum..

It was nearly impossible to take pictures in the Aquarium as flashes were not allowed.
This and the next one are called Moon Jellies.

They were absolutely beautiful, drifting around their tank.

One of the Peacocks came to bid us good-bye.
