"Spring is sooner recognized by plants than by men". ~ Chinese Proverb

Judging from the recent pollen count in Seattle, the plants are definitely celebrating the arrival of Spring. Here are a few pictures I took whilst doing errands today. The blossoming trees and flowers made a lovely splash of color against the dull grey sky.

There were lots of daffodils and jonquils blooming all over the place.
Many of the trees were blossoming as well, like this magnolia bush.
Most of the crocuses have come and gone, but there were still a few brave souls around.
I think this is Phlox. It's one of the first flowers to appear in many rock gardens here.
Here is a variety of the heleborus plant.
Even on a gloomy gray day the streets look so pretty because of the flowering trees.
Can anyone tell me what this is? It was in someone's garden. It's about five feet tall.
