The Annual Skagit Valley Tulip Festival is upon us, so we took a spin up north to Mount Vernon to check out this year's colors. 'Twas a miserable sort of a day but the vibrant hues shone brightly against the gray skies. There didn't seem to be as many fields in bloom as in other years but they were still a glorious sight. This site is dedicated to my dear mother-in-law Jane, shown here planting 100 tulip bulbs during January in Massachusetts.
