Woodland Park Zoo ~ April 23, 2009

I shivered as I walked briskly through the Zoo today. It was too cold for most of the animals to venture out so early and I didn't blame them one little bit for hiding out in their lairs.

As always at this time of year, the paths filled up quickly with squads of excited kids lurching from one exhibit to the next, so I didn't linger.

For five minutes I was two feet away from the dear little Red Panda.

He hardly seemed to notice me as he was intent on foraging for food.

I really enjoyed watching him so closely.

Uzuuma made a brief appearance, riding in from the East on Mom's back.

She spent a lot of her time worshipping her blankie.

Later she had a ride on big sister Calaya's back. She looked so big!

Hubert wandered around looking for his beloved.

'Here I am, big boy, just about to take a nap!'

'I shall stand guard while you sleep, dearest one.'

'You're lucky you get to leave, Lady! I am trying to tune out the noise.'
