Saturday Road Trip: Eastern Washington

Saturday, April 28, 2012
Taking advantage of living closer to the mountains now, we headed up and over Stevens Pass and spent the day in Eastern Washington, going as far as Leavenworth.

On our way to Stevens Pass we stopped to admire this view.

Up the hill, into the snow and over the Pass we went.

We took a break at the beautiful Lake Wenatchee.
We'd hoped to see Glacier Peak but there was still too much snow.

Lovely little Yellow Fawn Lilies grew in the Lake Wenatchee woods.

I was thrilled to see a number of Trilliums as well.

On the Eastern Slopes we drove along beside the Wenatchee River.

Imagine waking up to this view every morning!

Clumps of Wild Sunflowers grew in the rocks beside the road.

We drove along Icicle Creek Road for a while.
