Spring's a little late this year, here in the Emerald City. I've been enjoying my recent walks, watching the blooms finally burst forth.

Sights like these brighten a gray day.

Once a year, this fence is a pretty picture.

And oh boy - the rhododendrons. I never met a rhody I didn't love!

I don't recall seeing a rhody until I moved here. The colors are awesome, from papery white -

- to glorious two-toned pastel shades.

There are so many shades of each hue.

The delicate blossoms bear testament to the overnight showers.

Eyecatching red!

Some looked a little 'rusty' - a result of the cold, wet spring/

Others were like little bursts of flame.

Sunny yellow rhododendrons brightened up several gardens.
