Early Morning Walk

The buttercups are everywhere this year.

 
Pretty yellow irises surround most of the small ponds.
   
'Vroom, vroom!' A larger duckling thinks I am bringing food.
 

His very young cousin does his best to keep up.

   

'Oh help! I think I am stuck!'

  

'Why does everyone call me 'The Ugly Duckling? What's up with that?'

 
'Hah! You wanna see ugly? Check out my feet!!'

A tiny little Wren sang a very loud song beside the trail

    

From a great distance I was pleased to see two different views of a Green Heron. I've never seen him with his neck stretched out before. Later, he flew over my head.

His cousin, a Great Blue Heron, kept an eye on him.
