We took a short tour of the Japanese Garden located at the Washington Arboretum today. What a pretty place it is! Today was Children's Day, so there were crowds and activities everywhere. Despite this, we got a feel for the serenity and peace of this beautiful place. One of the things I particularly enjoyed was the Koi Pond. The Koi were all colors and sizes. Although many of the lovely flowers were already past their prime, there was still a lot of color from the wild irises, the pretty water lilies, the wisteria trees and the last of the rhododendrons.

Alongside the stream were many lovely flowers. |

I think the trees are Ginko Bilobas. |

Soft music was playing in the background, adding to the ambience. |

Here is the wonderful Koi pond. |

Groups of Koi headed for the bridge when they heard people approaching. |
