After a brief hiatus, the hummingbirds have come back to our feeders in droves. Perhaps it was the new fuchsia plant which attracted them. Suddenly they're swooping and diving, wheeling around beak-to-tail, zooming high and low, here and there. Tim calls it 'Hummingbird Wars' and it's fun to watch. Now and then they stop for a big drink or two from the feeders and the plant. I've had to refill the feeders twice as often.

I snapped a few pictures today through the glass patio door.

Hey! Wassup with this cottonwood fluff in my feathers? I'm NOT impressed!

If I find the right spot in a sunbreak, you will see my pretty feathers.

There is always someone coming...

Eeek, talk about being caught in the wind and sun! I feel like I'm in an episode of Grimm!

An amazingly long hummingbird tongue is the only thing in focus in this picture.
I used to worry that their beaks were too short to reach the nectar.
Hah! Not any more.
