Hoping for some sun which never arrived, I ended up at the
Duck Pond at lunchtime today. It was pretty busy - lots of folks
from nearby offices like to get some exercise at noon.

Several duck
families visibly diminished in number drifted around.
|
|
|
Suddenly a tiny
Goldfinch called out a warning and the birds went nuts!
|
|
|
So did a frog.
'Giddyap - go, go, go! No froggie legs for lunch today!'
|
|
|
|
Harrassed by crows, a couple
of Bald Eagles managed to land in a nearby Cottonwood tree.
|
|
|
|
Hey! You can't hide by sticking
your head in the water, dopey! Let's boogie!
|
|
|
|
Run, run, run as fast as we can!
We don't want to be lunch for those two!
|
|
|
So hey - whaddya
say to a little Duck Soup today? Did you hear what I said?
|
|
|
Don't bother me
- my feathers are a mess! I can't be seen like this! I have a reputation
to uphold.
