On Saturday morning Tim and I set out for a trailhead in the Boulder River Wilderness area located in the Mt Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest. It didn't take us long to wonder why we'd never been here before. What a wonderful old area - loads of trees, tons of moss, great trails, birds, wildflowers, and a thundering waterfall and river.

The low light in the dense woods made picture taking a challenge for me. Still, it was a fine hike and I'd go again in a heartbeat.

Tim has just registered us at Trailhead # 734.

My trusty stick and I are already enjoying ourselves.

The woods are so green and so mossy here.

A tiny Winter Wren sang his heart out for us.

The trail is wide and smooth at first.

Oh boy - a tree for me to hug.

Soon the trail narrowed and we found ourselves watching for obstacles.

Duck, Tim!

Oooooh, I loved these tiny mushrooms spotted by Tim.

A little further on were a few more.
