I braved the year-end school field-trippers at Woodland Park Zoo for a while today, anxious to try out my new lens and tripod. 'Twas a really  good learning experience :)

I was all thumbs as I tried to zone in on my subjects, only to find they had long since vanished or haughtily turned their backs on me. I learned that if one's hands are at all unsteady, the tripod is extremely necessary, so I shall have to practice. A lot! Trying to figure it out on the fly, in a hurry was more than a little frustrating.

As I said, it was a learning experience, and probably not best done on a day when hordes of kids charged up and down the paths. Here are a few of my results.
