Tim came to the Zoo with me today. It was bright and warm, and after the first half an hour, very crowded. Tuesday is often a maintenance day, so a fair number of animals were still inside their dwellings. Nevertheless, it was fun, as always.

This little chap was halfway up a tree, just outside the entrance to the Zoo.
He was being harassed by crows. Perhaps he was on an Egg Hunt.

We spent a few minutes watching the penguins dive and swoop.

'Tag! You're It!'

'Ma's not looking so up I go, while I have a chance.'

'Bleagh! What the heck is this yucky stuff? It tastes gross!'

'This is the way I climb the trees, climb the trees, climb the trees...'

'It's a looooooong way down! I'd better watch my step!'

'Someone gave me the wrong breakfast! I need MEAT!'

Today the siamangs were in separate trees. 'Hey, come over here, you!'

'No! You come over here. It's nicer in the shade!'

Hooray - the female ostrich (on the left) has a new mate. Her former partner died in December.
It was sad to see her roaming the Savannah on her own. They look as if they are getting along well.

A couple of gazelles are training for the Animal Synchronized Eating contest.

And the Red-ruffed Lemur has it made in the shade.
