After many months of rain, yesterday was the 4th sunny day in a row so we headed west to Westport and the Pacific Ocean. Our missions were two: to see pelicans, and to enjoy a lunch of the best fish and chips in Washington.

We also wanted to try a different route, taking a ferry both ways thus avoiding the I-5 Highway. It took a little longer but it was much less stressful. The first thing we did in Westport was head for the pier and lunch at the wonderful

Scrumptious halibut, lightly and crispily breaded accompanied by both tartar and seafood sauce.
 
     
   
     
And the chips are out of this world. Yum
   
     
   
     
After lunch we headed for the docks to watch our beloved pelicans.
  
     
   
     
There were hundreds and hundreds of them, wheeling and turning in the sunshine.
 
     
   
     
We both like watching these magnificent creatures.
 
     
   
     
Some like to fly high.
   
     
   
     
Others skim along just above the water.
