Today Tim and I headed to Ballard Locks to look for the Osprey Family living on the railroad bridge. It was a good day, unless you were a fish in the Ballard Locks area.

Here's the railroad bridge. The white arrow points to the Osprey nest.

For a while there was no action but lots of high-pitched noise.

Now and then an Osprey would pop out, look around then disappear again.

A second Osprey swooped and dove overhead.

Incoming...with lunch! Oh boy fish and...well, one out of two is good.

Presumably Mom had her claws full supervising the meal.

Dad returned to the skies, soaring and swooping again.

I'm so glad we were able to watch them.

We left the Ospreys and strolled along the South side of the Locks.

Good grief, what on earth was going on? There was lots of gull-noise and splashing.

Whoaaa - a Sea Lion was having salmon for lunch.

Looks like nobody taught him manners. He wolfed it down in less than 30 seconds.

'Yikes - let's get out of here before we are dessert!'

'Sure wish I had a little tartar sauce.'

'Ahhhh yum. Good to the very last fin.'
