Woodland Park Zoo ~ August 10, 2008
It was cloudy and cool but dry today, so I took a quick walk to the Zoo to try out my new camera bag/backpack. I went fairly early so a lot of the animals were still inside. Here are a few pictures of the early risers.

One of the new young flamingos forages for food. As the flamingo eats more and more shrimps, his feathers will become pinker.

According to one of the Zoo guides, they stand on one leg to keep the other leg warm! Who knew?.

Uzuuma looks as if she is playing the kid's game 'Show Me Your Nose.'.

Or maybe she is counting. One TWO three.

Time for a Mummy-Hug.

Hey Ma! Stop for a minute! I dropped my lettuce.

I'm giving Jumoke the Evil Eye so she will get out of our corner and go somewhere else!

In this picture, Uzuuma is sitting on her mother Amanda's head.

One of the gorillas in Pack Two is watching the hijinks over the wall.

I wish I could go over there! I'd have so much fun with that kid.

Another one in that pack was strolling around with a pile of straw on his back.

Time for my morning bath. D'you mind? I'd like a little privacy please.

Where the heck is my keeper? She's late today. I need food!

Just practicing my tap routine in case they need an understudy for Shrek: The Musical.
