Last Monday we headed off to the Zoo with Tim's Dad and Mom, figuring Monday's forecast of 60% chance of rain was better than Tuesday's (100% chance). Perhaps the cool temperature and gloomy weather kept other visitors at home. We had some great views of those animals who braved the cold and stepped outside their dens. Here are a few:

We had a clear look at the Jaguar a couple of times, as he snoozed, then prowled around .

A couple of Golden Lion Tamarins frolicked in front of us for ages.

'Ouch!' says the Chuckwalla as he attempts to climb a cactus.

Ngozi is a 9 year old female gorilla, daughter of Vip and Amanda in Gorilla Group 2.

'I wish I had someone to play with!' bemoans the 'baby' tiger.

Chinta hides out in the hammock but Melati is nowhere to be seen today. Shame!

'Ready for my closeup, Ms DeMille!' whispers a Lion-tailed Macaque. Uh, yeah.

Father Tapir eyes us carefully. In the next pen was Mother Tapir and the baby. We all tried so hard to get a picture of the baby but it was running so fast that all of my pictures turned out like this:
Two keepers told us that the baby hadn't been outside for days because of poor weather, and needed the exercise badly,

Okay - this isn't what it looks like, honestly! Two Guenons were flying through the trees and came to a stop on the same branch. Within a few seconds, they jumped off to the next one.

The West African Dwarf Crocodile eyes us too. 'Dwarf crocodiles do not attack humans. However, the large male here at Woodland Park Zoo has lost his fear of people and would almost certainly attack anyone entering his pool!'

A large iguana reminds us of a prehistoric monster!

Among the dried leaves, the Cobra attempts to make himself invisible.
