Our Saturday errands took us across the Evergreen Point floating bridge towards Bellevue, so we spent some time at the Bellevue Botanical Garden on the way home. What a nice surprise it was. I thought it would be very drab at this time of year, but there was so much to see. I look forward to a return trip next Spring or Summer.

The Bellevue Botanical Garden is made up of 36 acres of display gardens, woodlands, meadows and wetlands. We spent a couple of hours meandering through the gardens and strolling along the lovely trails. Here are a few pictures.

Goldiwarts, a bronze sculpture of a Great Western Toad created by Oregon artist Lon Brusselback greets visitors.

He's a donation bank.

Our first stop was the beautiful Fuschia Garden, and if it's pretty now, I can only imagine what it would look like in the Summer.

Here are four of the varieties of Fuschia which were blooming today.
The Visitors' Center is surrounded by patios and arbors.
Here's a closeup of one of the many types of Hostas which were planted in the borders.
Different grasses added to the variety, and provided a nice contrast to the more cultivated flowers and plants.
There were a gazillion colors of green.
