Never look a gift horse in the mouth, I always say. Today a gift horse gave me an early finish at work and a sky full of sunshine so I ignored all the chores which were calling my name and headed off to my favorite place.

A couple of Red-crowned cranes have their eyes on lunch!

The Cabot's Tragopan, an endangered species, is a rare pheasant.

A pair of Victoria Crowned pigeons eyed me suspiciously.

The're natives of New Guinea.

'Oh no! Here's Ms Peeping Tom again!' thinks one of the Guenons.

'Ummm, it's a long way down! Yikes!'

A couple of Red-ruffed Lemurs were having a spirited discussion off in the corner.

I watched them for ages and they made me laugh.

Later a couple more came out to forage for food.

I watched them for ages too.

A young gorilla is determined that nobody will steal his favorite toys.

'Hmmm, so he thinks he's safe, huh? We shall see!'

'Kids will be kids, I suppose.'

'There are lots of things you can do with a broken ball, you know.'

'It makes a fine hat, as you can see.'

As usual, the lions were basking on their heated rock in the sunshine.

'Yawwwwn. This is the life.'

Hungry, hungry hippo.

'Say ahhhhhhhh.' 'Ewwwwww!'

And after all these years of visiting the Zoo, I discovered a new elephant-viewing area. I can get much closer to them, woohoo!
