October 13, 2007
On a sunny Saturday we headed north, deciding on the spur of the moment to visit Heather Meadows. We knew the road to Artist Point was closed by snow, and we were pretty sure we'd missed the Autumn colors but what the heck. It was a nice day for a ride.

We were pleased and surprised to see remnants of gold, orange and red. And Picture Lake was as still as glass so there were beautiful reflections.

The lovely Mount Shuksan casts its glorious reflection.

A different angle shows the colorful ground cover.

Everywhere you looked, there was something nice to see.

Here and there, bright red foliage flamed in the sunshine.

We both walked around Picture Lake (along with many other nature lovers).

Mount Shuksan peeps over a brightly colored hillside.

This is the view from our lunchspot today.

One last picture of Mount Shuksan as we wended our way back down the mountain.

On the way to Silver Lake, we spotted more pretty colors.

Here's one of the areas at Silver Lake.

Every now and then we would catch a glimpse of Mount Baker.

And finally, a picture of the Twin Sisters with Mount Baker hiding behind them.

We were happy that we chose Heather Meadows as our destination today.
