Greetings. I'm a 2-toed Sloth. I'm upside-down, you know.
I'm envious of my cousin 'cos he has an extra toe.
The slowest mammal in the world? That's me. And I can gloat
That I'm so slow you might find algae growing on my coat.

See these claws? I'm born with them. They help me hang around.
They're strong and sharp and useful as they keep me off the ground.

I could tell you stories of old sloths who passed away.
And no-one noticed as their claws hung on, day after day.

I sleep a lot, both day and night. I do it topsy turvy.
'Eats shoots and leaves.' You're right. That's me. I bet I won't get scurvy.

I wonder if my name should rhyme with 'broth' or 'moth' or 'both'
Or maybe sound like 'Goth' or 'growth' or 'hippocratic oath'?

On land my back legs are so weak I might be someone's dinner.
But put me in the water . Wheeee! I'm really quite a swimmer.

Well, that's enough about me 'cos I'm sleepy now, you know.
If you're still there I'll see you in ohhh, twenty hours or so.
'Night, 'night!
