I spent a couple of hours at my Happy Place on Friday morning. Despite a mixed-bag of weather a few of the animals went about their business. I had a ring-side seat at the jaguar window, watching them frolic in the water. And I was thrilled to see the baby giraffe out in the Savannah with his Mum and Auntie. He's just started venturing further afield.

The lions are a year old now. The young males continue to grow manes, and all four of them still get into a bit of mischief now and then.

Overheard at the daily Penguin inspection: 'Help! Man down! Man down!'

Jaguars

What sort of mischief shall we get up to today?

Hey look! There are two more jaguars under the water!

Don't be silly, you two. That's YOU.

I wonder if I could dive into the pond from up here?

Go ahead! I'll catch you, dear brother.

I'm not so sure I'd believe that. Would you?

This is more fun than sleeping in the cave with Mama.

Good grief - what's that dreadful noise?

It's only us. We Lemurs are small but very loud. Scary, huh?
