'I like nonsense, it wakes up the brain cells. Fantasy is a necessary ingredient in living, it's a way of looking at life through the wrong end of a telescope. Which is what I do, and that enables you to laugh at life's realities. ~ Theodore Geisel'

I'm sure Dr. Seuss used the word 'nonsense' in the above quote in the nicest possible way. A couple of weeks ago I took a few pictures through the windows of a new shop in the area. Whoa Nellie! This ain't your everyday boutique. Imagination rocks!

I learned that the store's name is Asher and Bailey, brainchild of Mimi Lefebvre and Tracy Marik. Today I happened to be passing as Tracy came outside. We got to talking (as they say) and he very kindly let me in to have a really up close and personal look at the some of the goodies inside.

My pal The Illuminated Man is still in the window. This time I could see his arteries and veins.

There's a story behind nearly everything in the store. For instance, The Illuminated Man is admiring a steampunkish horse and cart.

A closer look at the cylinder on the cart shows a Nuclear symbol. What if one of the Civil War armies had nuclear power?

I can't remember the name of this one. I christened it 'Radio GooGoo, Radio GaGa'.

I love me some quirk.

Nearby, a slender lady stood atop an old water cooler and guarded the paper cups.

Wow, is this the notorious Frog(s) in a blender? Who knew?

There are some interesting pices of glass work here and there. The dog in this one is based on a real dog and the background is composed of layers of glass.

Several neon signs shine brightly. This is the AWESOME! Tracy told me that the doorway is the exact size of a beer can which can be fitted into the space. A picture of someone who annoys you (Sarah Palin, for example) can be displayed in one of the other openings.

Everywhere I looked I saw something fun. Sensory overload!

Another neon sign sat atop a cabinet full of goodies.

The shop is bursting with textures and colors.

A rack of gloriously colored fabrics glowed brightly against another wall.

Perhaps some will become chaps, a specialty of Mimi's.

Blast from the past! My old bedroom had orange carpeting just like the top one. Yikes!

I wish my pictures of the ray gun collection had turned out. Each ray gun had a special name and a story attached to it. I also wish my memory wasn't crap.

The Guard Flamingos waited for me to leave. See you again, guys!.
