When I was visiting the Zoo last Wednesday, I learned that the baby gorilla, born on October 20th, could sometimes be seen early in the morning. Well say no more! You know where I was as soon as the Zoo opened today! I parked myself at the Gorilla Exhibit, mildly daunted by the 'No animals are in this enclosure' sign on the window.

I hung around for a while, seeing no action whatsoever. It was a very cold morning and I wondered if the gorillas would be staying inside today. I began to make small trips away from the exhibit and during one of these, I met a woman (who turned out to be the Public Relations Manager of the Zoo). She kindly radioed the Gorilla keepers and told me the animals would probably be out between 11 and 11:30.

I scuttled back to the window and was lucky enough to see Amanda and her baby for a few minutes. The following pictures are taken through glass on a very dim and cloudy day. I think you can still see the most perfectly adorable baby gorilla. :)
