Seattle Parks

Tim and I spent a few hours today, ambling around a few of Seattle's many parks. It was cold, blustery and sunny, a good day to be outside.

We began with a stop at one of Seattle's newest parks, the tiny Fremont Peak Park. Good things come in small packages. There were many interesting details to admire.

Here's a partial view from the lookout. Those are the Olympic Mountains, with Ballard in the foreground.

Next stop was Taejon Park with its lovely pagoda. Built on Beacon Hill in 1995, this park commemorates its relationship with its sister city Taejon in Korea.

The paintwork is beautiful. I am looking straight up at the center of the ceiling.

Here's more of the detail and the painting.

Nearby is Sturgus Park with walking paths which circle a sculpture called Equality.

The artwork is comprised of 35 small granite houses on a grid set against a larger bronze house on a hill of grass.
