Woodland Park Zoo
December 29, 2010

How cold was it at the Zoo today? So cold that it snowed. The snow didn't stick around but I did for a while. I figured it would probably be my last trip of the year. Here are some things old and some things new.

New in the Australasia Area were several Blue-faced Honeyeaters who also love to eat spiders.

A magnificent addition from the Portland Zoo, the new mountain goat surveys his kingdom.

He's a splendid-looking fellow.

More new additions not yet on full display are a pair of Steller's Sea-eagles.

Steller's sea eagles are the heaviest eagle species, with a wingspan reaching up to nearly 8 feet.

I also saw a grinning wolf,

a dancing kangaroo,

a roaring lion,

a yawning jaguar and

a singing Patas monkey.
