There's not been a lot to look at lately, what with high water levels and cold, wet weather. Things are beginning to change lately as the ducks pair up for the mating season and the tiny sparrows and warblers sing their hearts out.

Cormorants are often early visitors, looking for fish in the pond.

It was nice to see the pretty Green-winged Teal again.

A White-crowned Sparrow looks for something to eat.

A Gadwall cruises back and forth on a sunny day.

A Yellow-rumped Warbler flits quickly from branch to branch.

A Song Sparrow lives up to its name...loudly!

Green Heron: haha- they'll never find me, hiding down here in the grass.

Haha indeed! Don't kid yourself, bro!

High overhead, a Bald Eagle makes lazy circles in the sky.

Blue Heron: I think I'm going to be a vegetarian. Is this what I am supposed to eat?

Eat what you want. I'm sticking with fishing for my dinner.

Why do they call me a Ring-necked Duck? The ring is on my bill, isn't it?

A graceful Common Merganser glides across the pond.

Red-breasted Sapsucker: peek-a-boo.

What's next? Babies, I hope! I love this time of year on the North Creek Trail.
