small Woodland Park Zoo: April 12 & 18, 2014

There is a lot going on at the Zoo during this time of year. Construction for a new Savannah, and a new Cheetah exhibit continues. Most of the 'baby' animals have left for other Zoos by now *sob sob*. Cold, damp morning do not induce the animals to come out and pose. Lighting conditions can change quickly and play havoc with picture-taking. And the School trips have begun.

Nevertheless, it is still one of my favorite places. Here are some pictures of my last two visits.

Patas monkey: *yawwwwn* Here comes the camera-lady again.

Patas monkey: Well, if I can't see her, she can't see me, right?

Sloth bear: The humidity is killing my hair!

Sloth bear: Mine too! Let's go on strike for some moisturizer.

Snowy owl: Hey, wanna see my Cyclops imitation?

Snowy owl: I'm pretty funny, right?

Steller's Sea eagle: Funny? That's not the word I would have used.

Towan the Orangutan: Hey lady - got any extra bananas? Broccoli? Kale? A Durian?

Pete the gorilla: Did you say broccoli? I will share mine if you like.

Nina the gorilla: Well, he's not getting the Treat-Ball. I'm guarding it with my life!

Asian small-clawed otters: Mom said to be careful. Why? Is there a monster down there?

Asian small-clawed otters: Look at those two. They're not scared of anything.

Zebras and Gazelle: Uh oh - here come those big ol' ostriches again. Run!
