Today was my first-of-the-year official sighting of ducklings on the Duckpond. The pond was bare until someone's dog romped around on the small wooded peninsula which juts out into it. Two duck families immediately escorted their babies out of the reeds there, also keeping watch on a Red-tailed hawk circling overhead.

It sure is nice to get out of those reeds for a bit, isn't it?

I'm loving it. Ma can be a tad overprotective sometimes.

Hey, what are these floaty things? Are we supposed to eat them?

Hummppf. I guess we know who Mama's Pet is today!

Ma said to stick together and watch out.

I think we're heading for that island over there. Race ya!

All present and accounted for.

Rule Number One: if there is danger, hide, hide, hide!

Wow, Ma sure knows her stuff doesn't she? What a good hider!

Here are a few pictures taken on Monday, April 21st

So Ma said 'find breakfast'. Is it this stuff in the water?

I'm not quite sure how to go about eating this.

Hah! This one looks more my size. Is it breakfast?

I wouldn't eat that if ya paid me! Grrrrrr-ossss!

Ma, they're making fun of me again! Grrrrrr!
Little one - you must learn to laugh at yourself. It helps.

Kids! What a handful! But they're sooooo cute.
