One of the resident ducks here is a hybrid of some sort. She has five babies, all different and all as cute as can be. I spent some time watching them this morning. They made me smile.

Here they are, swimming along the shore's edge this morning.

Okay - I'm hungry. Are we supposed to eat this stuff?

No, you silly sausage - that's for walking on, not eating.

There's lots of stuff in the grass, but some of it looks very strange.

Hey! Remember what Ma said. 'When in doubt, leave it alone.'

Ma said people sometimes throw bread crumbs here. Um, what are bread crumbs?

Oh you guys - did you ever notice that we have different feet?

Uh yeah. And we look different too. Are you really my brother?

Good grief - what are those two ninnies doing?

Do you see that white thing. Should we eat it?
I dunno - it looks and smells kinda gross.

Blech - it tastes gross too. Don't tell Ma I tasted it, okay?

These big feet are great in the water but on land - whoa nellie they're heavy.

Okay kids. Nap-time!

I don't wanna go to sleep. I'm not tired. Me neither!

Ma - it's cold out here. Can you be the blankie again? Please?

Oh all right. Remember - no wiggling and no fighting. Have a good sleep.
