July 2nd and 4th, 2014 (updated with July 6th) What a surprise to find some very young Green Herons in one of the swales near North Creek. Six had flown overhead last week but I figured they'd kept going. On July 2nd, three youngsters hung around on a branch sticking out of the water. Two days later, they and one more youngster spent time in the bushes overhanging the creek, occasionally dabbling in the water. I loved watching these funny little birds.

Here's a great place. It's much higher than the little branch in the water.
