The weekend was more damp than wet. On Saturday we took a break from building the Ark and drove northward. On Sunday I took a walk around here. There's usually something interesting to see, no matter what the weather.

Why did the Ruffed Grouse cross the road?
He had a date with the chicken.

Well hello there, Whitehorse Mountain. I see you peeping out of the clouds.

View from a see-through grid bridge over the Sauk River.

These trees in Darrington are spectacular every year.

A couple of pals play tag in the mist.

Here and there a colorful sight faded in and out of view.

The scene of the awful landslide earlier this year is still very sobering.

Now it's Sunday and I'm on my way to check out the Pond.

Most of the parking lots on the way were ablaze with color.

So was the pond!

A Kingfisher admires the colors too.

I walk home via my favorite pathway.

Now it's back to the Ark for the week. That was a nice break.
