A cold wave has stalled over us for nearly a week. Brrrrr. During a road trip on Saturday, Tim and I found a variety of ice formations in small rivers and streams. Here are eleven. We figure we were lucky to be out during the perfect combination of weather to see these pretty ice scapes.

The spray from the rapids forms dangly crystals.

The icicles are many different sizes and shapes.

Some looked like Giant's Teeth.

Others resembled balls and tubes.

Ice-bubbles caught the sunlight.

The spray of the Rapid River helped to make ice curtains.

They were so delicate and pretty.

Across on the other bank were a number of crystal shapes.

My favorites were these bell-like icicles.

They were so delicate and pretty.

Another group beside the road reminded me of ice flowers.
