Hey - it's Sunday and it isn't raining!
Oh keep our feet from dancing! Tim and I headed off early for a walk along
the North Creek Trail to Canyon Park Pond. Here is some of the wildlife
we saw.
A Pied-billed Grebe took a dive as soon as
he spotted my camera.
What a thrill to watch a Pileated Woodpecker carving up an old tree.
A little further down the trail, a couple of Bald Eagles enjoyed the sunshine.
I'm watching you, lady!
There are a lot of Coots at the pond this year - love their feet!
The Red-winged blackbirds are already singing away like crazy.
Here's a female Bufflehead cruising around.
I love the Female Hooded Mergansers - their 'hair' is so wild!
A Merganser enjoys a morning chat with a Green-winged Teal.
Surprise, surprise! No big bird rattling those branches high up - just a squirrel.
Down below the Green Heron is all ready for Flight!
When it comes to Fight or Flight, there's no contest.
'Hmmffff - I'm glad it's you guys!' he mutters as he settles down for a rest.
January walks - you never know what you'll find. And that's the truth!
