'One hundred percent chance of rain.' said Saturday's weather forecast. What do you know - there was a sunbreak during the afternoon so I headed for the walking trail around Tim's place of work, about a half a mile away. I wasn't expecting to see anything much, but there's always something to look at.

How's the mating going, kids? Not too well, by the look of it. The female on the left is one of 2 females in a group of 5 Ring-necked ducks. Heh heh, looks like she and her girlfriend will have their pick.

A few cherry blossoms were still hanging on. Today's winds of 10 - 20 miles an hour were wreaking havoc with them (and with my hair).

These magnolia tree blossoms were hiding in a corner too.

Tim's office window overlooks a lush, grassy area with a circular path winding through, lined with trees in beautiful full bloom.

A couple of bees were fighting for balance on a rhododendron bush, battling the gusts of wind.

Help! Help! I can't hang on for much longer!

High overhead, a couple of Red-tailed Hawks had loads of fun, circling and gliding in the breeze.

A third hawk tried to join in. 'Hey buddy - three's a crowd - dontcha know that?'

Take a hike, eh?

In the 'Signs of Spring' department, here comes the ubiquitous Scotch Broom. I know it's a noxious invasive weed, but oh my - it's so pretty and brightens the roadsides for ages.

Also in the 'Signs of Spring' department - the annual appearance of the Skunk Cabbage. It looks as if the slugs are happy to see them too.

Aren't ya glad ya came, Ang?
Yes, Mr Ring-necked duck. I sure am!
