April 3, 2015
Yesterday at the pond during a rainstorm I saw my first 3 ducklings of the year. I returned today for a better look.

What a treat to spot a Bald Eagle at eye level across North Creek.

There he goes - I hope he's not heading for a duckling breakfast.

Hooray - there they are and the Eagle is nowhere in sight.

They are faster than the speed of light, exploring everything they see.

Hey - this stuff is a bit hard on the ol' feet, isn't it?

You said it, bro! I have to watch where I put my feet - no mean feat!

Which way did he go? I dunno..

There you are! You're gonna get in trouble, running away like that!

Oh come on. Give me a break. Are you my Mother?

Anyway - what shall we do next?

Let's play Duck. Duck, Goose...errrr I mean Duck!.

Kids! They sure make a lot of noise.

A Pied-billed Grebe was being very quiet. Strangely, the Canada Geese nearby were going crazy!

I saw why! The Bald Eagle was back and cruising for food in stealth mode.

He landed on the top of the Cottonwood tree and kept an eagle eye on the pond.

By the time I arrived, Ma was trying to get the last kid into a safe place and reminding him to thank the Canada Geese for the warning.

I hope all three are around the next time I visit.
