For the past few years we've been promising to visit Juanita Bay Park in Kirkland, just south of Bothell. Today we finally followed through.

'The 110-acre park provides habitat for songbirds, waterfowl, raptors, shorebirds, amphibians, turtles, beavers and other small mammals. Interpretive signs are located throughout the park for self-guided tours. Juanita Bay Park features paved trails and several boardwalks.'

Indeed it did! To say we enjoyed ourselves would be an understatement. We look forward to many return visits.

Here we go. The scenery is already gorgeous.

Several boardwalks take us into the wetlands.

Beautiful water lilies greeted us.

Here and there a frog popped up to say hello.

Another long boardwalk led to the next look-out spot.

OH! OH! Turtles! Loads of them! I was so excited I nearly jumped into the water.

This one was practicing to be a bump on a log.

'Hey Yertle! Didja bring the sunscreen, by any chance?'

'Oh hai! Is there enough room up there for me?' 'Sure!"

'Thanks! Here I come!'.

'Ewwwww, who had the garlic last night? Was it you?'

And off we go along the next boardwalk.
