The weather forecast promised us a sunny day so Tim and I headed for Heather Meadows and Artist Point, looking forward to practicing with our new cameras.

At Austin Pass we began the two 2 mile uphill drive to Artist Point. That's Table Mountain at the top left.

But wait! What's this? A bank of clouds appears out of nowhere.

It rolls in swiftly and soon much of our pretty view is obscured.

Only the very top of Mount Shuksan is visible from the road.

From the parking lot at the top we can see that Mount Baker is disappearing too.

Soon it's a ghostly presence hovering in the sunny sky.
'Well, if you don't like the weather, wait a minute.' goes the saying.

So we waited, and watched Mt. Shuksan and the vibrant foliage fade in and out of view..

The colors were lovely already.

Here comes another cloud bank.

Peek-a-boo, Mount Baker.

We take pictures anyway.

The sunny skies make everything shine.
