Not satisfied with punishing our bodies on a five-mile hike last Tuesday, we headed out for another trudge today. This time our destination was Twenty Two Lake, a cirque lake at the end of a trail rising about 1500 feet over 2.7 miles. Learning from Tuesday's grueling experience, we wore hiking boots this time, and instead of lugging a twenty-pound backpack, Ang opted for a smaller "fanny pack". It helped. Still, the consensus is that we would far rather go UP a hill than DOWN it, as by the time we navigated the many steep switchbacks back to the car, we were once again exhausted. But boy, oh boy, we made it and it was awesome! We were both proud of ourselves for this one.

A small description of the trail can be found HERE and you can click on the following pictures if you would like to see an enlargement.
