We awoke to another grim weather forecast and decided to thumb our noses at it, heading south for a change to see if we could find the elusive Eagle Gorge (known henceforth as the Black Hole, or the Bermuda Triangle of Washington). We didn't find it, in fact could not get anywhere near it despite indications on both maps and GPS that there WERE roads which led to it. We did see many closed roads though - hmmmm. At any rate, we explored more countryside and it was good to be outside. Here are pictures of a few things seen on this trip.

My first thought was that these were buffalo but we decided perhaps they were the hybrid known as a beefalo.

What a shock, to round a corner in the woods near the Green River Gorge and come upon peacocks!

There were several peahens in attendance as well.

Here's a picture of Green River Gorge, taken from a bridge over the river.

This is the view from the other side of the bridge.
