ON
THE ROAD AGAIN
EXPLORING THE PACIFIC STATES
September 19th - 25th, 2003
Early
in the morning of September 19th, Tim and I left on a week-long
road trip. I'd been looking forward to visiting Oregon, to see
the beautiful beaches, and the magnificent Columbia River Gorge.
Tim wanted to visit Crater Lake in Oregon and Yosemite Park
in California. It promised to be a wonderful trip and it was!

Under threatening
skies, we drove south from Seattle and west to the coast. Seaside,
Oregon was our destination, and we arrived in plenty of time to
visit a number of places in the area. |
|
On September
20th we followed the Pacific Coast Highway to Newport, Oregon. Then
we headed inland to stay at Roseburg and on September 21st we made
it to Crater Lake. |
|
September 22nd
was spent driving from Klamath Falls, Oregon to the small town of
Oakdale, California which would be our base for two days while we
toured Yosemite Park. |
|
We decided
to take the "back roads", wending our way to Bend, Oregon
on September 24th and from there to the awesome Columbia Gorge and
then home to Seattle on the 25th. |

In this section
are some photos taken from the (moving) car. The change in the landscape
was sometimes amazing and always interesting. |
