Saturday, August 24th was another warm and sunny day - one of many we've seen in Washington this year. We decided to head for the Olympic Mountains this time.

One of the best-kept secrets, in our opinion, is Blue Mountain. It's not far from Hurricane Ridge, which would most likely be swarming with sightseers on a lovely day like today so we decided to take the road less followed. It's a somewhat daunting trip - seventeen miles up a very narrow and winding road, but the panorama at the top is well worth it. After parking the car, we hiked another half a mile to the very top of the mountain and were rewarded with spectacular views in all directions.

Here are some pictures from the trip. If you'd like to see a larger picture, please click on the thumbnail. To see Tim's wonderful Panorama, click HERE. (It takes a while to download and you must have java enabled.) Also, there's a map of the area located HERE.
