Canada Trip 2008
It hardly seems a year since I visited my family in Ontario, Canada. A lot has happened in a year. Ali has moved back to Burlington and bought her own house. Crue has changed from a baby into a toddler. My name has gone from 'Yaya' to 'Grandma'. Still, I felt as if it was only yesterday that I was there.

I spent most of my time with Ali, Brian, Beth and Crue, but also managed to fit in a wonderful visit with my two Canadian best friends, in which we laughed so hard for three hours that I thought my sides would split. I also caught up with my brother and his family whom I'd not seen for 3 or 4 years I think.

Here are some pictures of my time with Ali, Brian, Beth and Crue.

Ali picked me up from the airport and drove me to her new home in Burlington. It's lovely, and she's done a great job with the painting and decorating.

It was so nice to see her in her own place.

We spent a lot of time in her living room, curled up on the couch and chairs near that lovely warm fireplace.

Her guy Dave came over for a visit that evening. Here they are looking at the Photobombers* site on Ali's laptop.

So of course, Ali had to try some Photobombing.
The next day we headed to Brian and Beth's house in Hamilton. (This is last year's pic because I forgot to take a new one this year.)
There were Brian and Beth waiting to greet us. Brian is sporting a shorn dome this year.
And of course there was Mister Crue. He was a teeny bit shy at first but before long he was all smiles. What a good-natured little guy he is!
Brian and Beth have done a lot of work on their back yard, including a very fine gazebo and some climbing equipment for the lad. I am sure we would have spent far more time out there if the weather had co-operated.
Crue is a fearless young fellow and a bundle of energy. He never stops!
'Cut the lawn, Dad? Sure, let me at it!'
