It was a pleasure
to find some genuine quirkiness close to home here in our new
location. Just north of us at Thrasher's Corners is the Bothell
Feed Center.
I looked at their
website and immediately fell in love. There was a reminder about
the current three contests:
- Chicken
Coop with a winner for Best Everyday Coop and
another winner for Best Redneck Coop <--
-
Worst Molting
-
Best Chicken Comb
|
The contests end
on February 28th. 'Voting will happen on March 9th, the day
of our chicken event. Customers will do the voting! Prizes for the
winners!!!!'
Wait! What?!? CHICKEN event? Baby chicks!?!' Oh keep my feet from
dancing!
Have camera. Will travel.
The Bothell
Feed Center is described lovingly as '...an established, family
owned business providing outstanding products and service to our customers.
We offer a pleasant, unpretentious atmosphere, convenient location,
friendly and knowledgeable staff, and, most importantly, commitment
to love, care for, and protect our animal friends!.
Lucy the store cat keeps an eye on everything!
When
we first moved here we noticed a life-sized statue of a horse
in front. Here it is in a picture I found on the Web.
Mr Ed is a fiberglass
horse and at one point, looked a little bit worse for wear, probably
from being battered during several windstorms last year. According
to a store staff member, their discussion of how best to mend this
not inexpensive fiberglass horse evolved into 'Hey- let's decorate
him!'
And thus it began - red white and blue paint for the Fourth of July;
red and green for Christmas and so on.
I missed Mr Ed's first 2 performances so the first couple of photos
were kindly sent by Kimberlee Sparks at the Bothell Feed Center.
Behave! I'm watching you!
ST. PATRICK'S
DAY
Of course I'm still watching. That's my day job.
No glasses this time but hey, how about an umbrella?
What's next? Stay tuned, chickie.
After a long
gap in which Mr Ed remained gray...
HALLOWE'EN
2013
I'm b-a-a-a-a-a-a-c-k! Where's the treats?
Trick or treat.
Smell my feet.
Give me something.
Good to eat.
Not too big.
Not too small.
Just the size
Of Montreal.
It was great
to see Mr. Ed dressed-up again.
